OUR SLASHER REVIEW
Psycho Path returns in 2024 with three new attractions alongside its classic offerings, including a mix of thrilling experiences and some disappointments. The visit began with some awkward entry logistics, but the park boasts a lively atmosphere with food options (especially Greek cuisine), roaming characters, and various acts. IScream is a clown maze that maintains its intensity with clever jump scares. Psycho City is an evolving post-apocalyptic maze with strong actors, though it has some pacing issues. Cutthroat Island is visually but felt underpopulated with actors, missing potential scares. The Darkness is obviously a last-minute addition with little interaction or scares. Vandalised had a promising concept that fell flat after an engaging start, losing intensity and interaction. The Hunt is a fun chase experience that is more entertaining than scary. Doll House: The Factory is a playful maze focused on light hearted fun rather than scares, enjoyable in its own right. Isolation delivered intense and a personal experience, significantly improved from previous years. Crawl Space is a tight, crawling experience with strong actors that felt very immersive. Overall, the event was a mix of highs and lows, with a vibrant atmosphere and strong character interactions, but there’s a need for improvement in some attractions before further expansion.

OUR STALKER REVIEW
Psycho Path returns bigger than ever in 2024 with three new attractions added to its already massive line up and of course we had to pop along for our yearly visit. We arrived early as we wanted to secure our time slots for Crawl Space. After a little wait it was time to go in. The one thing that has always annoyed me about Psycho Path is the way they do their entry. You queue in seperate queues to get to this long counter and after collecting your wristbands you have to push through everyone else waiting at the counter to then enter. It feels a bit awkward. Around the scream park there are multiple food outlets (We highly recommend the Greek food), roaming characters who are just insane, multiple bars, a stage with various acts throughout the night and rides. Lets talk scare attractions.
IScream is their clown maze and having done it for several years it still has the same level of intensity that it always has. The clowns are rude and crude and will appear out of nowhere and scare the shit out of you. They use distraction to their advantage to provide some of the most well timed jump scares at the park. The sets are simple, yet they work incredibly well in adding a tone of psycho.
Psycho City is another of the oldest attractions at the scream park but it is constantly evolving and changing so each year feels slightly different. The actors inside were intimidating and very verbal with snide comments and a lot of swearing, exactly what you would expect from a post apocalyptic wasteland. The scares were well timed but not constant as there were some dead areas, but these were used to build suspense.
Cutthroat Island is their pirate themed maze. Our run was underwhelming if I’m honest. The maze is full of twists and turns but not a lot of the attraction had actors. We met 5 throughout the run and this is a problem as it’s not a short maze. It really could have done with more as there was a lot of dead space that really could have benefited from having an actor. The actors we did meet really tried hard to give us a scare but it was almost as if they had given up trying to scare and were more there to keep you entertained with a bit of humour and some sarcastic, sometimes flirty comments. Its frustrating as this attraction is utterly beautiful but its all beauty, no brawn.
Let’s talk about The Darkness. This was replacing Cornered this year as their crop didn’t grow well for their usual corn maze. The Darkness is a hooded attraction that you follow a rope around. You could tell this was a last minute addition to the line up. The hoods themselves were Psycho Path tote bags which we are sure we saw last year for sale in their merchandise stand. The scares were non existent if I'm totally honesty. I had no interaction with anyone. We just walked through a field following a rope for 10 minutes. It was poorly executed and is probably one of the worst attraction I’ve done in quite some time. By Psycho Path standards, this was very under par.
Vandalised was the second of three new attractions for 2024 and it brought back the vans from their very first year. This attraction started off well by having people forced into the back of a van. You are then driven around for a couple of minutes before being dropped off to some masked men who then put you in a small, individual holding bunker to simulate being kidnapped. After you’re released from your little bunker this is when the attraction becomes somewhat questionable. You have to crawl through a tunnel that is very muddy and lumpy. It’s a painful crawl as there is no padding on the plastic tubing. After, you then walk back to the beginning through a few smokes filled containers. After the initial contact with actors at the start you then meet no one the rest of the way. It goes from an intensity of about 8 to an intensity of 0 and it was just a let down. Great concept, just poorly executed.
The Hunt is a returning attraction and it involves putting on a head protector and then being released into an inflatable walled arena where you get chased by actors. You have to survive 3 rounds. It’s a lot of fun and definitely worth experiencing, if only once. Its not the scariest but it is a laugh. Another attraction they have is called Thunder Dome where you go around shooting each other and you wear shock pads so when you are hit you get a bit of a shock. This doesn’t appeal to me so I chose not to do it. Also new for 2024 is Psycho Cinema: Mind control but we just ran out of time so didn’t experience it.
Doll House: The Factory is the third new attraction for 2024. After experiencing Vandalised and The Darkness, I didn’t have high hopes going it. It is a literal maze in there and it uses a very small space perfectly. The scares were lacking but it can be forgiven for that just because of how much fun it is. As you venture round you are basically turned into dolls. You will meet characters who will face paint you, dress you up and the send you for packing. Its obvious that this attraction isn't meant to be scary and is more there to be a bit of light hearted fun with a spooky vibe. I enjoyed it quite a lot I must admit.
Isolation is the scream parks solo attraction. You will be placed in front of one of 4 doors and experience it alone. Previous years our runs through this have been a bit meh but this year this attraction was on steroids. We did 3 of the 4 doors throughout the night, only missing door 1. Door 2 was intense. You are grabbed, pushed, cornered and terrorised. Door 3 is just one room but the two doctors who are inside are really entertaining and get close and personal and transform you into something better. Door 4 is two rooms and involves a piggy party. Isolation just felt more intense and more up close and personal and I was impressed by the way the actors really went for it.
Last and certainly not least is Crawl Space. In order to experience this, you will need to arrive early and book a time slot. This can only be done on the day so arrive early as it’s only two people per time and it will book up quickly. This attraction does require crawling and has some very tight spaces. The actors inside are terrifying. There isn’t many but it works so well. The experience really feels up close and personal. I do have to say a special shout out to Monnika though. She really gave this experience the start it deserves for us and the energy was just continued throughout when they realised they could really go for it with us when we dared them too.
Overall Psycho Path was very hit and miss with its attractions with some being on top form and others really not. The atmosphere is always just electric and the roaming characters really know what to do. The food and drink offering is huge. I feel they need to focus on what they have and make them the best they can before expanding again.
